Cookie Policy

Last updated: May 7, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Clevertrek uses cookies and similar technologies on its website and in the Service. It supplements, and should be read together with, the Privacy Policy.

Clevertrek is a service operated by Fernando Beneitez Vela-Hidalgo (sole proprietor under Spanish law, NIF 75794423Q, with registered address at Avenida del Hotel, 1, 15º, 08860 Castelldefels, Barcelona, Spain).

1. What Cookies and Similar Technologies Are

A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your device when you visit it. Cookies are widely used to make websites work, to make them more efficient, and to provide information to the website operator.

Throughout this Policy, "cookies" also refers to similar technologies that store or access information on your device, including:

  • Local storage and session storage (Web Storage API);
  • IndexedDB entries;
  • Service worker caches (used by the PWA);
  • Pixel tags and similar tracking technologies (we do not currently use any).

This Policy applies to all of these.

2. Categories Used by Clevertrek

We classify cookies into three categories:

2.1 Strictly Necessary

These are required for the Service to function and cannot be turned off without breaking core features.

Examples:

  • Session and authentication cookies that keep you logged in;
  • Security cookies (e.g., CSRF tokens);
  • Cookies that remember your cookie-banner choice;
  • Service worker caches that enable the PWA to load.

Legal basis: Strictly necessary cookies do not require consent under the Spanish LSSI-CE and Article 5(3) of Directive 2002/58/EC.

2.2 Functional / Preferences

These remember preferences you have set, such as language, theme, or interface layout, in order to provide a better experience.

Legal basis: Consent (or strict necessity, where the preference is essential to the requested feature).

2.3 Analytics

These help us understand how visitors use the Service so that we can improve it. We currently use Google Analytics for the public website. Analytics cookies are loaded only after you grant analytics consent in our cookie banner.

Legal basis: Consent.

2.4 No Advertising or Targeting Cookies

Clevertrek does not use advertising cookies, retargeting cookies, or cookies for behavioral profiling. We do not share data with ad networks.

3. First-Party vs. Third-Party Cookies

  • First-party cookies are set by Clevertrek itself.
  • Third-party cookies are set by external services we use (e.g., Stripe checkout pages, Google services). When you interact with those external services, their own cookie policies apply.

4. Detailed Cookie Table

The exact list of cookies in use varies as the Service evolves. Below is the typical set:

In addition, the Service uses:

  • Local storage keys for caching of UI state (workspace selection, scroll position, recent searches);
  • Service worker caches for the PWA to enable offline access and faster loads;
  • IndexedDB entries for offline-first data where applicable.

You can inspect the exact cookies and storage entries through your browser's developer tools.

5. How to Accept, Reject, and Withdraw Consent

When you first visit the Service, a cookie banner asks you to accept, reject, or configure non-strictly-necessary cookies. You can:

  • accept all non-essential cookies;
  • reject all non-essential cookies;
  • configure your choices by category.

You can change your choices at any time by clicking the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer of the Service.

Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

6. Browser-Level Controls

You can also manage cookies and storage directly in your browser. Most browsers let you:

  • view stored cookies;
  • delete cookies and site data;
  • block cookies from specific sites or all sites;
  • enable a "do not track" signal (the Service honors this by treating it as a refusal of analytics consent where set).

Useful documentation:

Please note that if you disable strictly necessary cookies or all cookies, the Service may not work properly.

7. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy when our cookie practices change or when required by law. Material changes will be announced through the cookie banner or a product notice. The "Last updated" date at the top of this document is updated whenever changes are made.
